Binance has partnered with BBVA, Spain's third-largest bank, for custody services, an arrangement that allows Binance users to deposit assets in US Treasury bonds held by BBVA and use them as margin for transactions. The partnership aims to decouple trading activity from underlying funds to reduce counterparty risk. In the event of an unexpected situation at Binance, user funds will continue to be safely stored in BBVA-controlled government bonds.
